Job Summary:

Working as part of the wider digital team, you will develop and build email campaigns, from start to finish, to reach existing customer bases and prospects. You’ll also be tasked with designing and building the emails and journeys within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (previously Exact Target) in HTML as well as using marketing automation tools to reach the intended person, with the right message, at the right time. This roll will work to support wider digital campaigns, but the majority of time will be spent on email-specific activity in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.


General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the email marketing channel
    1. Assistance with SMS/Text communications may be required
    2. Website updates via a CMS may be required
  • Design, build, QA & execute email campaign strategy from end to end
    1. Approximately 10-20 targeted emails sent each week
  • Supports the execution of a variety of digital project work - marketing emails, website updates, campaigns and promotions
  • Writing and editing tasks (including, but not limited to, marketing emails, miscellaneous landing page content, building newsletters, SMS copy, etc.)
  • Manage all email marketing programs, via the Salesforce Marketing tool, related to customer retention, acquisition and promotion. Inclusive of managing active, targeted data extensions and uploading of lists
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop Field communications that support product launches, and marketing promotions
  • Support the development of email marketing strategies with the goal of increasing engagement and open rates
  • Support email reporting that tracks KPIs and business metrics on a regular basis to uncover actionable trends, insights and forecasts within the SFMC tool Datorama.
  • Ability to collaborate with analytics teams to apply best practices and business insights to build effective email campaigns.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales and social media teams to plan email cadence on a monthly basis according to a larger digital and communications calendar



Knowledge and Experience Preferred:

  • 3+ years of email marketing experience
  • Experience with industry leading ESPs (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Datorama) - Salesforce Marketing Cloud required
  • Understanding the build-to-launch cycle of email management
  • High attention to detail and ability to thoroughly QA emails
  • Deep knowledge in customer segmentation, list management, import of lists and deliverability
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and general email design principles required
  • Strong understanding of marketing channel reporting and experience optimizing campaigns by relevant KPIs
  • Advanced Excel Skills (SQL is a plus!)
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with product marketing, creative, sales, social and legal teams
  • Experience working within large-scale marketplaces is preferred
  • Experience working with direct sales organizations preferred
