Delivery Consultants (DCs) at ShellBlack.com work as part of a team on larger complex projects or independently on smaller initiatives (four to five figures in scale). Since DCs are customer-facing, they must be polished and articulate enough to interact with a wide range of client personas – from C-level executives to front-line end-users.
Depending on project size and team composition, DCs are expected to lead discovery sessions with clients. In these meetings, DCs must be prepared to ask intelligent and targeted questions to capture relevant Salesforce requirements and business processes.
DCs must have the technical knowledge and management skills to deliver smaller Salesforce projects end-to-end. This includes configuring page layouts, automating business processes, creating analytics, and training end-users. To that end, a solid knowledge of Sales Cloud is a prerequisite. Experience with Service Cloud, Financial Services Cloud, and Experience Cloud is desirable but can be learned on the job. Please note that importing data into Salesforce is not a requirement for this position as this function is handled by a dedicated team at ShellBlack.
For all projects, DCs are responsible for maintaining project documentation and updating Asana (ShellBlack’s project management tool) in a timely manner. As a project progresses, DCs must demonstrate delivered functionality to clients for feedback and approval. DCs will also log time spent on projects to track progress and burn rates against budgets.
New DCs go through a four-day onboarding process to learn the ShellBlack implementation methodology and how to manage client engagements. Though support is readily available (both technical and managerial), once ramped up, DCs are expected to manage small projects with little to no assistance. DCs manage their own work schedule but are measured against quarterly targets for billable time and successful project delivery. Lastly, as they gain tenure and experience, DCs can choose from multiple career paths at ShellBlack.
