Salesforce Release Engineer in GAC Savannah

Come join our Enterprise Applications team as a rock star Salesforce Release Manager. We're looking for someone to be responsible for our Salesforce deployment process. This includes managing the processes and procedures related to Salesforce deployments and providing recommendations for automation opportunities and continuous improvement ideas to further mature our process. You'll work closely with our Agile development teams and be responsible for planning, coordination, and oversight of our Salesforce releases, patches, and emergency change requests. Our environment includes Microsoft DevOps, Flosum, and Git.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 8 years in Systems Administration, Software Development, and/or Release Management.

Position Purpose:

The Release Engineer designs, implements and operates the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Pipeline across the application portfolio and has the responsibility and authority to achieve the desired overall process results.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

* Automate Installation of applications for consistency across the environment.
* Coordinate release content and effort based on the product backlog.
* Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations .
* Work with the development team to create and maintain Integration Testing and Application Monitoring.
* Resolve issues escalated through Application Monitoring tools.
* Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews .
* Produce Deployment Guides, Run Books, and Implementation Plans.
* Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required.
* Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities.
* Define the Forward Plan for the release windows and cycles across an Application Portfolio.
* Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
* Design and build deployment pipelines that support frequent deployments with low/no downtime deployments.
* Continually work towards making improvements in the release process .
* Coordinate with cross-functional team to establish common DevOps processes across IT landscape.
* Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists. .
* Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks .
* Establish measurements and targets to improve process effectiveness and efficiency .
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

* Thorough understanding of Agile Software Development Methodologies and Processes.
* Experience with one or more scripting languages PowerShell, Bash, etc. required.
* Experience building pipelines in one or more DevOps tools.
* Experience with Containers and Container Management a plus.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal/external clients/vendors.
* Collaboration, decision making skills, and negotiation skills.
* Experience with Microsoft DevOps or Jenkins a plus.
* Experience with Docker, OpenShift, and/or Kubernetes a plus.
* Experience with Ansible a plus.
* Experience with Sonatype Nexus a plus.
* Experience with Selenium a plus.
